The canopies were masked with Parafilm-M. The cockpit openings and the bomb bay were masked with masking tape and damp tissue. The canopies were first of all sprayed interior green then the model was given a coat of Halfords (an auto store in the UK) grey plastic primer. When dry any seams or blemishes that were revealed were dealt with, then the primer was smoothed out using 0000 grade wire wool. Using wire wool prevents detail being lost. This does create a lot of dust and wire wool bits all over the model that needs to be got rid of. I simply blow them off then use a tack rag (a cabinet makers tacky cloth for removing dust) to remove any left over bits. I then Pre-shaded using matt black along all panel lines and around detail (see my article on the Bf 110 G-2).
