Hi Guys

I know, I have been pretty quiet. However I have done the Scottish Nationals and recently Scale Scotland and East of Scotland shows.

The Nationals at Perth was well attended again, and I had leaflets out to recruit members for proposed Scottish Kitmaker club. Plenty of leaflets went out, and an email set up. I have had some interest and although only few in number I hope to get enough to get us up and running.
The show was in both halls of the ice rink and the competition was busy. I was awarded a Gold and a Silver in 2 catergories. The displays were the usual high standard and the retailers had a good day looking at the amount of full carriers people had.

Dundee for the East of Scotland show was next in August. At a new venue, which was 5 mins from the Caird Hall where it was held previously. The venue was multi roomed, and very cozy, making it more of a family atmosphere. Dundee has always been a friendly show and the 1st one I attended, and this year was no exception. I have already booked for next year. The displays were great and the competition was well represented. I had a few of my own builds in, and was very pleased to be presented with the senior best in show for a Ferguson tractor diorama.

2 weeks ago I was at Scale Scotland which was also held at a new venue. The last 2 years it was at the Hilton at Edinburgh Airport, as the show has grown the organisers decided to move to Murrayfield where Scotland play their Rugby home matches. A large venue and a very busy day. Displays from all over the UK and dealers aplenty for adding to the stash. The competition was large and a very high standard as usual. The WW1 display was great with members mixing with the visitors dressed in period uniform. A great day with a good turnout.

Next Saturday I am off to Aberdeen for the 2nd show held by Aberdeen IPMS. I missed last year due to hols, but I will be there this year. Report to follow.
