Cheers Paul,
Well we have another queue jumper from Star Wars in the form of R5-D4, build is complete but detail work still to be done.

Now instead of building R2-D2 which I'll be building from the other boxing so I'm building R2-Q5, here's the start. Q5 is black and gold.

Small update, one wing temporarily positioned and the mechanicals uncovered, eyes painted red and drying before the lenses get fitted, cockpit painted and fitted.

Need to find something for it to sit on, a small branch I think.

Something new and different.

The Dragonfly
1/35 resin and pe steampunk esk flying machine by Industria Mechanika.

Tried AK's Metallic blue, sorry but a load of crap.
Then went with Mr aqueous metallic blue and have a nice finish, the mechanicals are in burnt iron but will get details picked out in brass. Cockpit awaiting paint and one set of wing membranes (frames) have been painted. Pilot waiting for arms and paint and the legs still need to be built. Got some photos off the net of really dragonflies for inspiration of the colour scheme so it will not be all blue, expect orange, brass and red.

Thanks Paul, I haven't finished him yet his still at the stage in the photo seen above.

An interloper has hit the bench swimmingly, a Typ IIB U-boat in 1/144 for the Silent Service campaign. Still lots to do!

Well he has arrived!

The latest figure from Star Wars and Bandai, Kylo Ren.

Last night I put him together although he needs a bit of paint, base cleaned up and painted and a touch of weathering.

Need to see if I can find a translated colour guide for Boba

Hey Lucky, Have you managed to find a translated colour guide? I finally picked up a Boba Fett and with the nursery nearing completion I'm hoping to get some bench time in before the sprog arrives and I think Boba might be moved up the pile.

Allen if you PM me with an email address I'll send you a Jpeg image with the colours listed by Humbrol number/colour.

Thanks Fred, always been a fan of the Cent and have a load more to build

Centurion - for my money one of the top three best-looking tanks, ever.

I'll be watching.

Little while since an up date but there has been things on the bench of which some are aware but more on those when the time is right. Any way a few more Star Wars subjects found the bench, still more work to do, mainly paint.

So to the left is Darth's TIE Advanced X1 and the right is a First Order TIE Fighter

Good news, after a long wait (4 months) an order arrived from Russia which means that once the bench is clear the Aussie Cent can return.

Yes Paul, get that lid back on!

I bought the Airfix 1/72 Curtis Hawk and Beaufighter TFX the other day I too plan on building the Hawk in Flying Tiger markings, but I haven't chosen one for the Beaufighter yet.

"Warning Warning Giant bottles of glue alert !

We are getting reports from S.E London of the presence of mutant asian adhesives invading the homes of hobby craftsmen whilst they are out on shiftwork.

Health and safety experts are shocked at the implications of the pungence of pear drops penetrating into public monuments.
A local resident asked if the council could confirm the wonderful work on the Cutty Sark restoration is under risk from these fumes.

Council officials will investigate.

Thanks guys.

Phil, most of the sprue gates are hidden at joints although there are a few on show they can't be seen unless you look for them, even a few that are in plan sight.

Ok back to my bread and butter 1/144

The AFV Club P-40 and a Mark 1 models Beaufighter Mk.Ic
The 'Beau' is still devoid of engines and wing tips while the P-40 is ready for paint.
P-40 will be in flying tigers markings while the Beau will be in the markings of 30sqd RAAF.

you've built a kit you can literally see your face in!

what was that like to work with? i would be really worried about damaging the chrome finish on those parts, and unlike a normal kit a bit of filler and a touch up isn't an option!

None the wiser mate, sorry.

Games of thrones is a wonderful series of novels.....that's the way it should have stayed.

I will never watch a US series made from a novel I have read it will be invariably just pure bollox.
Like Vikings etc they will all have the same credibility and authenticity to me as Xena and Hercules, and probably the same costumes.........sorry.
Even Fury was pure hyped up impossible Crap

I haven't seen the latest Star wars so I am going to be out of touch with the characters, but these figures are right smart, all of 'em.

I do hope you are loving these builds as much as it seems.

Keep 'em coming mate.

Paul.

Up to now I pretty much had an idea what was going on.....
from now on I haven't got a 'pot of glue'Lucky.

all I know is this one's nice and shiny but I'm guessing he will be dirtied up?

All the best

Paul

Paul, Captain Phasma is the leader of the First Order Stormtroopers, the character is played by Gwendoline Christie who if you watch Game of Thrones you'll recognise as Brienne. Anyway here's the still work in progress CP along side her Stormtroopers. Oh, no she will not be dirty.
