While at the tyneside show on Sunday picked up a few bargins for some of the campaignes that are up and running.For my GATOR NAVY

A box with the Admiralty Modelworks 1/700 Repulse Upgrade set showed up this week. Very sweet! Here's what I posted on MW.com earlier today:
I also got a few HP kits right before vacation (just got back from a week at Walt Disney World with the family) - 1/700 RN cruisers Columbo and Delhi and the French cruiser Emile Bertin.

Received my Repulse Upgrade Set from Admiralty the other day. The set contains turrets (with brass barrels!), funnels (with searchlight platform for one), ships boats and the correctly shaped aft deckhouses to represent Repulse "as sunk". There is also a resin ships badge, PE for the ships boats and anchor chains! Oh, and they included a sample USN 5"/38 cal turrets in the box as well.
The casting is superb, especially on the funnels - the steam pipes really "pop" out. Overall, the entire set is very, very well done. I'm tempted to drop everything and start working on the Repulse immediately - it's that nice. Pavel and crew continue to set a new standard for other resin manufacturers to meet.
I have no relation, either personal or business, with Admiralty Model Works. I'm just a very happy customer, who is looking forward to future releases from the Admiralty!

Frank, I'm envious of your book score and I hate you.
Martin, awesome about the Repulse set! So how about those instructions! BTW, you should've told me you were doing Disney. We could have maybe had a mini MSW meet since I (and Pavel, for that matter) live in the Orlando area.

The directions aren't half bad. Any idea who did them?
We were there from Saturday 2/28 through Sat 3/7 - stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort. And we rented a car too, so I had the ability to be mobile. Though I think my wife may have frowned on modeling side trips!

Well, the Naval Expansion Act of 2009 is almost complete. I picked up some over at Freetime Hobbies today and soem others came from Hobby World Japan.
I looked high and low for this one. I need it for my project I am planning for the Water Line Campaign.
It was a fun day going to a real hobby sotre. I am glad they are not too close, I would be in major problems.

Just received Revell 1/72 scale Flower class Corvette.
Budget build so I'll be trying to improve what's in the box instead of adding cost. Karl Zingheim ( CaptSonghouse) has sent me scans from the original Matchbox instructions for HMS Bluebell so that'll be my subject, apparently all the parts are still in the box.

Well, any full hull could be built into a waterline if one is daring enough, I suppose. But, the problem with 1:72 submarine kits is that in most instances, producing a waterline model requires throwing away about 2/3's of the kit.
In this instance, my Type II project will be a cube-of-the-sea diorama, so I can keep the model intact.

You should be delighted with the Shokaku. I'll probably get a second later this year. With the Flattop Campaign next year, we'll have plenty of excellent subjects.

Hi Augusto!
Yes, A/B and Cube of the Sea are the same thing. So, apart from a drydock or a building slipway scene, the only way to depict a sub in a diorama without tossing most of the kit away is such a method.

Just happend to do a good deal at a hobby show - have built one before, so I will have to consider what to do with this one - prewar, waterline, extend it and do a B ??
