The Gauntlet challenge

what is it:
as a way to encourage the group to participate in some form of builds over the year between Scale model worlds. We have have resurrected the old way of laying down a challenge. Any member can lay down the Gauntlet as a way of a challenge in the form of subject for the group to participate in.

Accepting the challenge:
once a challenge has been laid down, then it is up to members to take up the Gauntlet, and participate in the build Quest, with a view that the finished results be used in a display at the following years SMW.

Winning the Quest:
All those who enter the challenge and display the finished models at SMW are then entered into the final challenge to find our Quest champion, where the victor will be crowned and there name for ever immortalised on the Gauntlet cup.

Note: all entries will be used to create material for the Bulldogs website

Failing the Quest
Taking up the challenge and failing to finish, there are dire consequences and as we are no longer allowed to put members in the stocks we will have a rethink around the penalty for failing in the quest, but those who fail will be named and publicly shamed!!! (somehow)

Proof of the quest
As part of the requirement for picking up the Gauntlet is proof that your quest is happening, this is done by posting pictures of your build here in our forum, or on our Facebook page (ideally both)

so are you brave enough to take up the gauntlet, and take on the quest to become the groups Champion?

so the first challenge was laid down ready for SMW2017.

After a discussion between myself and Jason, and the fact he posted pictures of his new kits and I admitted I had never actually built one, even though I own a few kits....

The challenge - To build a tiger 1 or Variant in 1/35 Scale from any manufacture and have it finished and completed for SMW2017.

who else is foolish enough to join in, and take on this years challenge? those who are then Good luck in your quest.....

Just the small thing of actually building the thing....

I love this but at the moment I just have too many models on the go to really be able to fit another in. Then there is the little thing about the individual tracks on these targets these days! However it is a challenge so I feel that I must except, so I am searching for a suitable candidate. If I do find one, at a reasonable price and with rubber band tracks then I may be in

OK I'm in! I have bought an Academy Tiger 1 late, for only £20.00, including postage, which seems reasonable? I'm not sure if it has individual links, if it has it might be done as wheeled vehicle!

If it is kit 13314 it is rubber band tracks.

Indi links are fun :-)

I don't know the ref number but I live in hope!

"Indie links" are they the scam ones, with a help line in India? 'cos that's what individual links feel like to me!

This is a great idea. I will join in but not this one, as I have too many builds on my bench.

Good luck amigos

Not really a good reason not to enter, I have at least 13 models on the bench, the Tiger makes it 14!
