Nice one Phil, so any idea where I can get a 1/12 scale Phil? There's a Scout trooper w/speeder bike and Darth on the way, Boba, R2&R5 and Captain Phasma will follow later along with Kylo Ren.
After building a couple, some of the decal areas can be painted before you assemble so you can do away with the decals.

well, for a 1/12 scale me, your best bet is a superman figure for the body with a frank spencer head!

i did have a look at the amazon site, and what a wallet buster it was, especially a kit of vaders tie fighter, that i have wanted for ages to sit in between my already built fine molds ties, and it seemed to be a reasonable price too.

Knock at the door, then another trooper joins the party

Need to strip the bike back down and add some paint also need to do the base and trooper. The trooper will sit on the bike if you want.

Hope this may help others, those that have got these kits will know that the paint guide is in Japanese and doesn't even give a paint code. I have managed to find a translation on the web for Darth, R2 & R5, Stormtrooper and Scout Trooper w/Speeder bike.

Darth

Scout & bike

Stormtrooper

R2 & R5

Cheers Andy, Boba is on his way

Want to get another Sandtrooper and First order trooper, an IG-88 would go down great to stand with Boba. For those who don't know IG-88 look it up

I'll track down the R2 and R5 set, not sure on C3-PO though.

Any way the base for the scout and bike have been filled, cleaned up and primed, they'll dry overnight ready for the red edging tomorrow before I start on the earthy, forest floor look.

A hole in the lineup ready for Darth when he arrives.

Ok haven't got the Sandtrooper finished but he is almost done. Coat of Vallejo polyurethane Matt varnish and then a coat of thinned down sand wash (water based). Once it's dry some of the wash will be scrubbed off together with some of the varnish to reveal clean but matt areas and clean glossy areas.

Also made an improvement to the spray booth by adding two LED lights in the top so I can still work as the light fades.

Well.....

You only done gone and done it now haven't you

The sandtrooper is my fave that you have started so far mate really nice.

Hope you have no probs with that Lucky, You are churning'em out!

You said you have the Bobba Fett.

Is he a standing figure?

My daughter is a heavy duty Star wars Film Fan.
she flies out this Thursay to begin a year long teaching post in Taiwan,
(we are already calling it Tattooine BTW).

Do you know if this company have any Princess Leah or Padme or other lady character figures, that I could do for her whilst she is "off-planet'?

Paul, Boba is on his way from Japan but I think he is using his scale rocket pack for the flight May be Andy will get his finished before mine arrives

As far as the female characters are concerned, the answer is no, none available in this series except the new Captain Phasma although she has only just been released and is lots of money due to the chrome finish. I've read that Disney have told the licensed companies that they are not to concentrate on any female characters.

Ok calling the scout and bike done.

I've made a pre-order for Captain Phasma who gets released on 29th Feb in Japan, so should have her by late March.

Now to get the TIE In finished!

Cheers Paul.

Now the hanger returns to being a hanger and not a barracks although....
The TIE In is complete and a TIE fighter joins the hanger.

Before the decals

And after with progress on the TIE beside it, solar panels in the background just had a coat of black.

Inside the TIE cockpit and two 1/72 figures just been primed.

.... Just noticed in a photo that a part has come adrift.

i built the same two kits a while back, i found the cockpit interior to be incredibly fiddly, but once past that they went together almost like a snap fix kit, and they look really nice bookending my star wars shelf-

don't remember having the little stormtrooper figures though, were they included with the kits? i know i've kept the boxes, might be because theres still parts in them. i have the x-wing and y-wing and i think there is a standing pilot and R2 included with both.

*edit* to answer my own question, as i will be using gloss white later i got up in the loft, found the old box and there were two little troopers in there, so they can painted later today.

Phil, they look good there, like the Darth and Sandtrooper busts.

Mal get one! If you time it right you can pick up a Stormtrooper for Ł15.

Well had some time before going to work tonight so progress has been made on the TIE fighter. An old Finemolds X-wing will follow and another Sandtrooper arrived today
3 of the old Finemolds Y-wings wait their turn after that, one of which I may try and turn into the two seat long range recce version.

The TIE fighter just needs the edges of the wings painted light grey and decals, canopy masks will stay on for now as I may give this one a wash to dirty it up a bit.

No work on the TIE as yet as I'm on nights this week but good news Boba has arrived. So over the weekend I'll get the TIE finished and start on Boba Fett, the only one that does need paint in my opinion to finish due to his worn battered appearance.

Any way here's some inbox pics.

Need to see if I can find a translated colour guide for Boba
