Regarding the vote, results back from the club and combined with those here the Cent dozer has won through so that will be next.

That was going to be my vote Luciano, I'm following your Aussie build here and looking forward to the next instalment.

Cheers, D

Admit it, you wanted to do the dozer?

D, nice to have you along, my b...l...o...g...s... are a bit different as if I call it a b...l...o...g.... It normally spells it's death so it's more of a ramble in the mind of a mad man

Mal, yes I wanted to do the dozer but also the Cromwell, Cent 3 and Chally 2, by the way the Chally got 0 votes. Either the Cromwell or Chally will come after the dozer but I may have an A13 cruiser by then so that may change. Once I have a few more under my belt then I'll tackle one of the 4 AA resin Cent's in the stash.

Peeked in the dozer box and found the scheme I'll be doing, keeping it south of the equator it will be a Kiwi tank.

Well no update as yet this week even though I had a few days off most of it was spent trying to get over a 19hour shift which started at 18:00hrs on the Saturday and finished 13:00hrs the Sunday afternoon. Just to make matter worse the dreaded Gout kicked in which made sleeping almost impossible even with the strongest pain killers.

Any way with all that done I'm still trying to decide which replacement mantlet will work the best, the new one from DEF looks good but has only just come out so trying to find it is proving an issue. So now my bench and fingers need something to do and here is my biggest issue:

1) Nick the turret from another Aussie 5/1 in the stash, hull can then be used on one of the conversions which don't require a turret.
2) Start the Dozer
3) Start the other Aussie 5/1 and fit it with the dozer, only issue with this one is I'm a bit late to the party as I'd need a set of decals from Mouse House and they have just closed for 6 months.

Edit: Just found a set of those Mouse House decals for a Aussie 'Nam dozer on evil bay, they are now on there way from Oz.

Ok with the Cent stalled awaiting parts I did think of forging ahead with the dozer however as you may have read in my previous post I have found a set of decals for a Aussie 'Nam dozer so that will now have to wait. So not wanting to jump ahead on my list (I was tempted) I thought I'd do something different that's been in the stash for a very long time, so step forth the old Tamiya M4A3 Sherman. Only additions are a set of Airwaves pe for the light guards, periscope guards and sand shield mounts.

So after one day here is where I have got too. The primer was applied just before I took the photo so is still a bit wet. It will be finished as a Philippines campaign machine 1945.

Just so you know I've not given up on Cent's these have found their way to me via evilbay, Amazon and online shop. The MK.5/2 - 6 kit is now becoming a bit hard to get, I have one to make a Mk6, the Aussie 5/1 has all you need for a 5/2 in the box so why pay stupid money for a 5/2.

Cheers Paul, also got hold of the Bronco, A13 MK.II cruiser MK.IV (stupid and long name) and an Italeri Crusader MK.I so now have a couple of the earlier cruisers.

As for 'eavy metal there will be a couple of little ones around, Scimitar CVR(T), M3A1 Stuart and a few Universal carriers / T16.

No progress at the moment as work/life is in the way however a LionMarc RAAC Centurion turret with mantlet cover in place and the searchlight mount is on the way, together with a couple of guys to keep the tank commander company in the form of Aussie SAS from Bravo-6.
May not be completely accurate but I'm sure the SAS wouldn't mind a lift on the back of the Cent for part of their journey into the jungle.

Help, any one looking on here know where I can get a set of Aussie 'Nam era water cans?

Mouse House did a set but now they are closed so that option is out.

Ok the decals have arrived from Oz via kiwi land? Work that one out.
I also picked up another book on the Cent with loads of photos.

Once the Sherman is clear this little M3A1 will hit the bench for my Guadalcanal campaign with a few marines in tow.

I may get an hour or two in later today but right now just getting ready to go and see Star Wars

The new Star Wars film is GREAT

Any way on to the Sherman, a coat of US Olive Drab primer has been applied all over and once I've finished the set of night shifts over Christmas I give it a Olive drab top coat and start on the details.

Merry Christmas all

Watching your Aussie Cent build mate. FYI on the AFV kits they just started to show up again here in Oz in the shops. Maybe they will hit the stores again there? Or if you want me to sort some out for you from here let me know.

Welcome Ultra to my bumpy build blog, I now have the Mouse House dozer decals but I'm still trying to locate some water cans to go on the engine deck, these are resin items from Mouse House.

Well still waiting for the LionMarc turret to arrive for the Cent so once I finish the night shift I'll get the Sherman finished. I'm going to attempt to do some painting techniques on the Sherman so we'll see how it goes, nothing major though.

Little more progress on the Sherman.
I've misted over a slightly different shade of olive drab and painted the tires, started painting the tools and cleaned up / filled the ejector pin marks on the spare track links.

Bit more done on the Sherman, tools all painted and fitted, .50Cal painted and the .30Cal barrels done. Decal applied (still wet in the photos) next is the tracks then we get all dirty.

While the Sherman has received a Matt coat and dries I made a start on my Guadacanal campaign entry. The M3A1 is an easy build and goes together very quickly, bare in mind that I have not installed the interior as it will not be seen once finished. One of the marines and two tankers have also been started although the tankers may not be fitted due to how tight the hatches are but we'll see.

Little bit more progress on the M3 now close to primer. Two more marines put together and you may notice that the turret hatches are closed, well I tried to put the tank crew in but they just don't fit even trying to come up from inside, the openings are just to small. Being that this tank is on patrol I didn't think that it would be right for the crew to be sitting on the outside so it's closed up with the marines following behide keeping their eyes peeled.

The Sherman is looking great

I built the M3 (Tamiya?) a long time ago, when I first got back into modelling, it was on a nice little diorama and I was very pleased with it, until the missus dusted it, an broke off the antenna!

Who makes the marine figures? I am looking for 3 figures for my Spitfire Diorama, so RAF or I need to convert?

Mal, Ultracast also do some 1/32 RAF pilots but no erk's. The Masterbox figures are very nice only a little bit of clean up and they're good too go.
