Hi Al

Can only find a couple of poor quality pics showing the ammo. Both show the rounds in individual fiber board tubes.

Hi Derek,

Thanks, if I come up with anything I'll post it up. Have you seen any pics of the Airborne jeep configured to tow the 75mm? I was going to use the basic 6pdr design but wanted to get an idea of the ammo box size.

I don't know if the British boxes their own ammo or just used the standard American issue rounds.

Cheers

Al

Al

According to "British Airborne Jeeps" all Lt Rgt jeeps were fitted with a bracket on the bonnet to carry 15 rounds of 75mm ammo in Clover Leaf pack M48, 3 rounds per pack. I have a photo of a similar arrangement fitted to an anti-tank Bty jeep, that I will scan and post tomorrow.

Are you coming to Telford. If so I will bring the Jeep book for you to see.

Here you go Al, Clover Leaf stowage. As you can see the individual rounds are in fibre board tubes held in groups of 3 by the shaped end plates.
