This is a Paper coated foam board seemingly similar to any "foam core" board. The largest difference I found was the fact that the paper peels off extremely easy! I've struggled with removing the paper from some foam core boards in the past.
The foam has a nice density and fine "grain" about it, with no voids of any kind in my sample. You can use almost anything as a tool to emboss or carve it. I tried some carving chisels, dental pics, and even paper clips and a wooden tool used for working clay.
I tried painting with several types of paint. While it soaked up spray paint quite a bit, thicker "craft" type paints seemed to work better at filling in the small voids of the foam.
Highs: Easy peel paper.Lows: soaks up spray paint.Verdict: Great product, in just the fact the paper peels easy.
